Bigger Faster Stronger is a company that was over 40 years ago in 1976 by three very dedicated coaches/teachers. These teachers had observed a lack of proper Physical Education and Athletics at the younger levels.

They felt the need to introduce something that can fulfill the requirements in a way that there are better opportunities to be able to develop student-athletes in a proper way. This led to the creation of the Bigger Faster Stronger workout programs.

As of this point in time, the original creators of the Bigger Faster Stronger workout programs are retired and living happily with their families but the company has grown and operates under the leadership of CEO John Rowbotham, the son of one of the original founders of the BFS workout programs.

What do the Bigger Faster Stronger workout programs entail?

Right at the heart of it all is to encourage positive changes in the lives of young people through a three-tiered method:

The first thing is a series of seminars that BFS conducts for students and athletes which focus on strength training, fitness training, athletic performance and character education.

The second thing is that BFS supports coaches and educators in the work they do with the young athletes. They offer certification programs in weight room safety and strength conditioning. They also offer further education which helps the educators and coaches do their job better.

The third thing is that BFS offers a high level of expertise when it comes to weight room design and layout.

The Bigger Faster Stronger workout programs

Of course, at the heart of it all is the actual workout itself. The Bigger Faster Stronger Workout Programs consists of a series of workouts that help young people with both the athletic and physical fitness and performance.

The Bigger Faster Stronger workout programs were designed after observing the training programs undertaken by some of the best track and field athletes. Particularly, the world-class throwers in track and field.

Since they are considered to be some of the most powerful athletes, designing a workout program by adapting theirs made the perfect sense. Many of the techniques in the Bigger Faster Stronger workouts have their roots from the training methods that were designed by sports scientists.

Of course, all the techniques were refined in order to make them a bigger faster stronger program into what it is today. Bigger Faster Stronger has been making it a point to focus on helping students, young athletes, coaches, and teachers over the years to accomplish the goals that they have set when it comes to physical fitness and athletic performance.

With the original founders have had a lot of successful results when they started out, the current President and CEO of BFS are also continuing to grow the program with Bob Rowbotham taking on a consultant’s role in some projects to this day.
